Dressage is a traditional sport which holds training above all else, the rules are in place so that equipment does not take the place of training the horse correctly. We agree with this, however, training becomes far more difficult when the horse is uncomfortable with their equipment.
We have put together the below list of FEI legal bits. Where we have been unsure of whether the bit fits within the rules, we have consulted the FEI for a definitive answer. The rules for bitting in Dressage are fluid and interpretation of the rules changes regularly. Please always check with a judge or steward that the bit you are using is legal. Rules can and do change very quickly. This list is correct as of the date published on it. We will keep this list continuously updated as we learn of changes to the rules.
