Watch LessonFulmer Loose Ring Gag
The Fulmer Loose Ring cheekpiece, will have the same effect as the traditional Eggbutt in so much as it will prevent pinching on the sides of the mouth, however the extended pins above and below the bit, firstly prevent the bit being pulled through the mouth and secondly have the effect of guiding the horses head which is great for schooling and training purposes.
The Fulmer Loose Ring Gag is stronger than the usual Fulmer Loose Ring as the ropes going through the rings create leverage which will exert more pressure through the mouthpiece whilst at the same time introducing more poll pressure
Functionality
The Fulmer Loose Ring pins will apply pressure to the horses’ cheeks, the pressure will back-up turning aids. The Fulmer Loose Ring has a slow application of pressure and a fast release.
The Fulmer Loose Ring Gag is a fixed and loose Gag that applies pressure slowly when the rein is on the loose ring. The rope passes through the holes creating the gag action. A Gag should be used with 2 separate reins so that the gag action can be limited.
Keepers can be used with the Fulmer Loose Ring Gag. They are recommend in most cases. The keepers keep the pins parallel to the face, which reduces the chance of them being caught up and causing an accident. The keepers do change the angle of the mouthpiece in the mouth though, which can change the action of the mouthpiece.
