The Eggbutt shape will prevent pinching of the lips. With the rein on the Eggbutt ring the release is slower and the application of pressure is faster. The Eggbutt Gag is the gag version of the Eggbutt, it is stronger and will create more leverage on the mouthpiece whilst at the same time introducing more poll pressure.

Functionality
The Eggbutt Gag is a fixed Gag that applies pressure quickly when the rein is on the Eggbutt ring. The rope passes through the holes creating the gag action. A Gag should be used with 2 separate reins so that the gag action can be limited.
The gag creates a conflicting signal by creating poll pressure and pressure in the corners of the lips when the cheekpiece slides up the ropes.
