The 2½ Ring Miia is a variation of the 2½ Ring. The top ring is included in the middle ring, similar to a Wilkie. This lessens the amount of poll pressure and leverage that can be created by the cheekpiece. Having the bridle in a small ring means that a back strap is not necessary as there is less slide on the cheekpiece.
