Lock Up Comfy
The Lock Up removes the nut cracker action of the conventional Snaffle, meaning less pressure on the bars and together with the extra curve of the comfy offers less tongue pressure.
The Lock in the centre link allows the mouthpiece to retain the correct shape in the horses mouth. Pressure descends onto the bars and due to the mouthpiece being a semi-broken mouthpiece, it will hinder creating a squeeze on the bars – the extra piece of metal that has been added prevents the mouthpiece from folding backwards therefore creating little, to no squeeze on the bars.
The Comfy curve was designed to spread pressure that is applied to the bars over a larger surface area, this decreases overall direct bar pressure.
The Snaffle Lock Up Comfy is available in Sweet Iron and Titanium. The Sweet Iron material was chosen as a metal option as it oxidizes. Oxidization encourages salivation and acceptance of the mouthpiece. The Titanium material was designed as an alternative metal option to sweet iron, this metal was specifically chosen due to its hypoallergenic nature. The semi-broken, Snaffle Lock Up Comfy, has limited movement.
