Watch LessonSnaffle Link
Our Snaffle is a popular bit due to the curved mouthpiece which distributes pressure more evenly over tongue and bars and reduces the nutcracker action. Adding the link in the middle softens the squeezing action of the Snaffle. The nutcracker action results in the horse lifting its head, the softened action of the Snaffle Link will result in lifting the head with more acceptance from the horse.
Bombers subtle innovations make this bit far more acceptable than the traditional counterparts.
Functionality
The link in the Snaffle Link creates a smooth surface area over the tongue compared to a standard Snaffle where the rings would create a pressure point on the tongue. The link helps to soften the squeezing pressure on the bars but this pressure is still more than a double jointed mouthpiece would create. The Snaffle Link is curved to soften bar pressure and squeeze on the bars, by spreading pressure over a larger surface area. The Sweet Iron material was chosen as a metal option as it oxidizes. Oxidization encourages salivation and acceptance of the mouthpiece. The double break, Snaffle Link, is a broken mouthpiece and will take the shape of the horses mouth.
