Sara Grills Square Twist

Sara Grills link is 40mm and is designed to sit vertically on the horse’s tongue and suitable for a horse that uses its tongue as a means of pushing against the bit to take control. The Sara Grills will cause the horse to draw its head back and tuck its chin in. Providing very little surface are to disperse pressure the Sara Grills is more severe than the Control Plate and the Buster Roller.

The Square Twist will create more pressure points on the bars and is stronger than the equivalent Round Twist bit.

Functionality

The Sara Grills creates a pressure point on the tongue due to the center component concentrating pressure on a small surface area. Pressure descends onto the bars and due to the mouthpiece being a double break, it will create a squeeze on the bars – however this squeeze on the bars is less than the squeeze created by a single jointed mouthpiece. The square twist is a stronger specialization than the round twist as the spines are a smaller, sharper surface area. This specialisation does still apply a great amount of pressure on the tongue and bars as each curve does create an individual pressure point where it lands. The Sara Grills is available in Sweet Iron. The Sweet Iron material was chosen as a metal option as it oxidizes. Oxidization encourages salivation and acceptance of the mouthpiece. The double break, Sara Grills, is a broken mouthpiece and will take the shape of the horses mouth.
