Functionality
The Ported Barrel relives pressure on the tongue due to the medium sized port allowing for space for the tongue. The center component is a smooth, rotating barrel that does not interfere with the horses tongue or palate. Pressure descends onto the bars and due to the mouthpiece being a semi-broken mouthpiece, it will hinder creating a squeeze on the bars – the barrel hinders the mouthpiece to fold backwards therefore creating little, to no squeeze on the bars. The Barrel also allows for independent lateral aids. The Sweet Iron material was chosen as a metal option as it oxidizes. Oxidization encourages salivation and acceptance of the mouthpiece. The semi-broken, Ported Barrel, has limited movement.
