The narrow port has been designed for the horse with a narrow jaw, this ensures accurate fitting over the bars and eliminates the rocking movement which occurs when the port is too wide.
The curved port is softer on the bars and slow in applying tongue pressure. The narrow port is also available as a straight mouthpiece which is slightly stronger, this suits a horse with a short mouth.
The Petros mouthpieces rotate preventing the horse taking hold of the bit. Often good for a horse that leans or tries to take hold of the bit.

Functionality
The Narrow Tongue Petros offers tongue relief by spreading pressure across the bars. Pressure applied to the bars is softened due to the generous curvature of the mouthpiece. The addition of the Petros to the mouthpiece stops the horse from being able to hold onto the side of the bit. This can be especially useful in competition where the horse may try to grab the bit under stress, grabbing onto the bit will slow the horse’s response therefore losing precious seconds. The Narrow Tongue Petros is a solid mouthpiece and will not create a squeeze on the bars. The Narrow Tongue is available in Sweet Iron.
