Buster Roller Corkscrew

The Buster Roller link is shortened which increases bar and tongue pressure making this mouthpiece sharper than conventional link bits. The increased pressure on the bar will lift the head and the roller will increase pressure on the tongue bringing the chin in. Best suited for a horse with a low head carriage and which leans on the bit.

Bomber recommends this mouth piece as an alternative to the Barrie, it is kinder and achieves a similar result. Recommended for horses that are built downhill.

The Corkscrew mouthpiece is grooved to offer extra control over strong horses. The groove in the mouthpiece causes edges that result in pressure points in the horse’s mouth. The edges amplify pressure on the mouth, especially the bars and tongue, and also act on the lips. This offers the rider more control than a smooth mouthpiece, and can help to prevent the horse from leaning.

Functionality

The Buster Roller Corkscrew creates a direct pressure point on the tongue. The tongue pressure is direct and unforgiving, center component is a smooth roller that concentrates pressure on a small surface area. Pressure descends onto the bars and due to the mouthpiece being a double break, it will create a squeeze on the bars – the corkscrew will emphasize this squeeze on the bars and apply greater pressure on the bars. The Buster Roller is available in Sweet Iron and Titanium. The Sweet Iron material was chosen as a metal option as it oxidizes. Oxidization encourages salivation and acceptance of the mouthpiece. The double break, Buster Roller, is a flexible mouthpiece and will take the shape of the horses mouth.
